From works I’ve both released and consumed on social media, found footage, collage, and remixing has reached a whole new level of popularity. Now taking the titles of “edits” and/or “core”, these types of short form content draw from various mediums such as film, television, comics, music, literature, photography, and even sports. For example, I have created multiple works of my own that can primarily be viewed on instagram. This includes a short video that juxtaposes audio from the Kinolibrabry titled Living the American Dream, 1950s Suburban Life with images taken from inside I.C.E. facilities.
